Helene Høie

THE ARTIST

Helene Høie is a Norwegian artist living in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her love for the tangible, and a need to explore, brings a good variety of materials and techniques into her art making. Primarily she’s a sculptor. Whenever she does make a flat piece, it always involves a combination of materials, among which, metal is her favorite. Electroshaped copper, brass corpus works, silver & gold inlays, and since 2016 also cast bronze sculptures. Her language in form is distinctly organic, much inspired from the movements in nature. Her working approach is very intuitive and hands-on.

After completing her Master of Fine Art degree in 2004 Helene Høie has worked for a Northern Jutland based pipemaker, making numerous unique silver & gold inlays as decorations for the pipes, that are sold worldwide to collectors. She has run her own gallery in Læsø island in the Kattegat sea – Galleri Embæk – and been taking part in starting up the art hall same place. She has been exhibiting in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Germany and Japan.

Her workshop is situated in Sankt  Annæ Passage between the high end shopping street Store Kongensgade and Copenhagens gallery street number one, Bredgade. You are mostly welcome to visit. Please go to Contact page to make an appointment.
